Performance Car Maintenance
A Tale of 4 RS's
We look after many Ford RS and ST customers in the region, who like the personal attention and comfortable facilities here at Kernahan Service.
Four such customers are Mick Lang, John Fielden, Andy Clark and Les Goble.
Mr Lang owns an absolutely standard RS Focus and looks after it meticulously, even refusing to take it out in the rain! Mick travels some distance, 60 miles, because he enjoys a drive and it is worth travelling to get the best service for his car - and a very good excuse to exercise the RS. He says:
"I like taking the car to Kernahan Service because they treat it like it was one of theirs. They even let me come into the workshop [accompanied for insurance reasons] to look under and around the car when it is in for service."
Mr Fielden has the ultimate RS, just as clean and well looked after as Mr Lang's car except his has been treated to a major Mountune upgrade and other enhancements including brakes and visual modifications.
Mr Clark's car is another very well maintained example and is used as his everyday transport.
Mr Goble's car is his everyday vehicle, except when he's testing new Aston Martins or racing his Lotus Cortina - see photo below.
We had all the cars in the workshop at the same time and they looked amazing side by side.
Mountune
Mountune are based in Essex and supply performance kits for Fords which can be fitted at their selected dealers/workshops. Kernahan Service are proud to be one of them.
The performance kits are recognised and approved by Ford Motor Company and the vehicle warranty is not affected by the conversion.
